A Leave No Trace park, encompassing nearly 16 acres, Mission Dolores Park is one of San Francisco’s most popular destinations, the vibrant heart of its equally vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood. Here you’ll find lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a multi-use court, a playground, and two off-leash dog play areas. Yes. Many festivals, performances, and other cultural events are held here, and on sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond.

  • I don’t live in SF anymore, but I am surprised I had never come here when I did live there. We enjoyed our BiRite ice cream from across the street while eating at this park. It is a fascinating urban ...  more »

  • I had no intention of coming here, but was advised by a tour guide to grab some food and sit here for lunch. Excellent advice! Plenty of grass and benches to sit on and fantastic views. I wasn't expecting the hill (and only went about half way up) - but that's San Francisco I guess. Added bonus was the public restrooms (which can be few and far between in SF).
  • One of the best parks in all of San Francisco. The park is located in the Mission District and it is visited by both locals and tourists alike. The Mission district is generally warmer and sunnier compared to other areas in the city. This means that you can enjoy great weather almost all year round. You also get a great view of the city skyline! For those who want to pratice sports - the park has a basketball court and a few tennis courts. The park is also family friendly as it comes with a pretty big play area for kids. Most folks brings their dogs to the park which means there are 4- legged friends running everywhere in the park. The park has a pretty diverse crowd and it is also fun to people watch. There are people from all over the city and the park is generally safe. If you are lucky you may get to see the truffle man in action!
