A flurry of color and community bursts into life every Sunday at Bac Ha Market. A bustling spectacle of North Vietnamese village culture, the market serves as the weekly meeting place for many ethnic minority groups, including the brightly dressed Flower Hmong, Phi La, and Black Dao peoples. Arrive early for an authentic taste of the market, surrounded by the sounds and smells of chickens, buffalo, and goats being traded amongst the villagers. Try your hand at bartering for some locally made handicrafts, before picking up a bite to eat at one of the many food stalls. Bac Ha Market Reviews
De markt bezocht tussen 7 en 9u. Zeer vermoeiend door de drukte en door de brommertjes die overal tussen laveren. Authentiek weliswaar en duidelijk op de lokale bevolking gericht. Je wordt (althans op... more »The market visited between 7 and 9am. Very exhausting by the hustle and bustle and by the mopeds that are everywhere between lashing. Authentic and clearly focused on the local population. You are hardly approached (at least at the moment we were there) as a foreigner (ITT the markets in Saigon). No market where you can score a lot of souvenirs, outside the colourful bags that are offered in multiple places. Animal market on the river is not for sensitive eyes and ears. We saw things happening that could be called heavy abuse. After 2 hours we had it. Good to visit if you are in Bac Ha but I would never sit there for 2 hours on a bus from Sa Pa.
um mercado perfeitamente normal para os parâmetros asiáticos, não vale uma deslocação propositada de 100 km more »A perfectly normal market for Asian parameters, it is not worth a deliberate displacement of 100 km
A beautiful, stunning traditional market with colors, smells and flavors that run through the soul. Beware of scams and wallets ...
The market is quite small, i would not recommend to make te journey especially for this market but the surroundings are very nice and if you happened to be there on a sunday then you should definitely go there.
