Detailing the peculiar Hindu heritage of coastal Vietnam, Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture houses the largest collection of Cham artifacts in the world, with exquisite pieces ranging from the 2nd to 15th century CE. Featuring some 300 stone and terracotta pieces, the museum showcases masterpieces of Indic carving and architecture with elaborate ornaments rescued from Angkor Wat and My Son after a week of U.S. carpet bombing in August 1969. The 1919 French colonial building includes a large sculpture garden with highly ornate mythical creatures set in stone. • The museum exhibits a wide variety of artifacts and sculptures related to the large-scale de hindy. If you're curious about what hindy artifacts look like, it's a good time to go.

  • I was interested in sculpture, but it was a failure because I thought about the evacuation from heat. The air conditioner was not included. I am sorry that I am not able to see too much of my condition because of the heat.

  • I really enjoy the sculptures and the history that comes along. The description is really helpful to understand these display. Some of the descriptions are missing, just the name. This museum is very small but lots of history in it.
  • Not sure how often this get puts on my most people's itinerary. If you're into sculpture and ancient civilisations, then it might be worth a visit. The Cham civilisation was a lesser known empire that dominated a region in SE Asia, particularly Cambodia and Vietnam, for a period in history. They were a very distinct culture, seperate to others in Far Asian history, with unique imagery, motifs, and mythology which often drew on Hindu traditions from India. I honestly didn't know much about them and this museum provided a great deal of insight into their world. It found it a great primer for the Angkor temples when we got to Cambodia a week later. My only gripe was lack air conditioning but maybe I should have checked my privilege at the door along with my reasonably price entrance fee...
