Central Post Office, Ho Chi Minh City

Completed in 1891, when Vietnam was still part of French Indochina, Central Post Office boasts a fusion of Gothic, Renaissance, and French architectural influences. The building's unmistakably European marble floors and looping arches serve as a reminder of the colonial influence on the region. Look for the antiquated telephone boxes and maps painted on the walls depicting the telegraph lines that crisscrossed Vietnam and Cambodia. You can use this still-operational post office to send postcards from the onsite souvenir shops to relatives and friends. With our online itinerary creator, Ho Chi Minh City attractions like Central Post Office can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • A big Ho Chi Minh uncle meets you when entering in a beautiful building. The souvenir shop on the side of the entrance was a reasonable price for the sightseeing spot. The 100% Cotton Vietnamese T-shirt was 80k vnd. I thought i'd rather buy here than negotiate in the Ben Thanh market.

  • The post office is still working. Lots of postcards to send to friends, wishing that you were here. The post office is across the road from the Cathedral. Has a lot of small stalls.  more »

  • A historical site and a very unique place. It’s an attraction as well as a working office. People are working there as they work in a post office and tourists are visiting this place all together , seeing things and shopping also. There’s a lot of things to shop like post cards , currency notes and coins , magnets as well as key chains , showpieces etc. on the opposite side there is another famous site called Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon. There is no entry ticket for this attraction.
  • This is the old building from French colonial time and still being used as the central post office for local people and tourists. This is a beautiful place which is reserved 100% from the interior to the exterior. A top tourist attraction in Hochiminh. Located in the center next to the church. You can buy nice postcard and send it to your family in your home country. That is the sweetest thing I found
