On the western bank of the Perfume River stands Tomb of Minh Mang, an architectural complex consisting of 40 buildings, including palaces, pavilions, and temples. Built in 1843, the complex holds the remains of Nguyen dynasty emperor who established a more efficient Vietnamese government, built many monuments, and stopped the Siamese invasion. Pass through one of two side-gates to enter a courtyard decorated with horse and elephant statues. Make Tomb of Minh Mang a centerpiece of your Hue vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Hue journey planning website.

This place is so relaxing. It is quiet big and there is some walking involved so the best time to visit would be early morning or late afternoon. Nevertheless, it has again that weird relaxing aspect and there was a cool breeze so the heat was bearable. The place itself is amazing. You can appreciate how much work has been put into it and how respected and loved the late emperor was.
One of the more complete tombs and a delightful place to while away a few hours. Some signage in English in the small museum area but you might need google or a guide to fill out a more expansive commentary on this important site.
